In a statement, the Foreign Ministry supported the decision issued by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the immediate cessation of Israeli military operations in the city of Rafah and the opening of the land crossing.
In this regard, the ICJ insisted on the pressing need to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches all areas of Gaza and to allow the entry of international committees to investigate Tel Aviv’s practices and violations.
According to Lebanon, this ICJ decision is an important chance to put an end to Israel’s attacks and displacement policies as well as to initiate a serious and effective political path towards a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue.
In this regard, Lebanon called for adherence to international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative launched at the Beirut Summit in 2002, which enhances regional stability and security.
At the same time, the Levantine institution called for the international community and the UN to step up efforts to pressure Israel to comply with the relevant provisions.
