This position was expressed during a phone talk with Iranian interim President Muhammad Mokhber, in which he also expressed his heartfelt condolences to the leaders and people of the Islamic Republic for the death of President Ibrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian in a helicopter crash.

Al-Assad expressed confidence in the capacity of the Iranian state and people to overcome this incident, which he described as painful.

In turn, Mokhber stressed the deep strategic relations between the two friendly countries, and ratified the continuation of consultations and coordination between them at all levels.
