The media reported that the rebels attacked residents of Minova, in the territory of Kalehe in the province of South Kivu, an area bordering Bweremana, in North Kivu.
Three bombs were launched on Thursday at around 10:00 local time, one of them in Ludahuba, near the Mwanga school compound, and another in Bugeri, causing no human casualties but ‘a real psychosis’, the publication said.
The school compound was left empty, while some residents quickly evacuated their families from the eastern part of the Minova housing estate.
Local sources said the explosives were a response by the rebels to the shelling of their positions by the Congolese army, which is pushing an offensive to recapture insurgent-occupied towns and has attacked the hills above Minova and Bweremana with artillery fire.
