In his profile on the social network X, the top representative of Cuban diplomacy highlighted the statement of the head of the Caribbean government in favor of the elimination of Cuba from the US State Department’s list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism.
We are aware of the firm position of the brothers of the Caribbean Community against that measure, said Rodriguez in his message, in which he added Skerrit’s message on that platform where he reiterated his country’s position on the matter.
Skerrit said his nation observes with concern the continued inclusion of Cuba in that unilateral list, which he considers an arbitrary classification aimed at justifying the US economic blockade imposed for decades.
Consequently, he called for the reversal of this undeserved and unjust inclusion and reiterated his call for the normalization of relations with Cuba and the lifting of U.S. economic sanctions, with the purpose of improving peace, stability and economic growth of the Cuban nation.
