Venezuelan Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, informed through the social network X that according to the proceedings ordered by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the capture of a citizen responsible for the shipment of drugs to Europe in a fishing boat was achieved.
He pointed out that arrest warrants were issued and several raids and seizures of movable and immovable goods of high value were carried out.
Saab specified that as a result of the effective international cooperation with France, a Venezuelan fishing boat was intercepted in international waters with 80 packages of cocaine.
The vessel was linked to the citizen previously detained by national authorities, following the investigation that was being carried out, he indicated. In the course of 2024, Venezuelan authorities seized more than 21 tons of drugs, according to the Sectorial Vice-president for Citizen Security and Peace, Remigio Ceballos.
