St. Kitts and Nevis donates medical supplies to hospital in Cuba

Havana, May 23 (Prensa Latina) Havana Gyneco-Obstetric América Arias Hospital on Thursday received a donation of medical supplies from St. Kitts and Nevis, worth some US$ 6,500 dollars, as informed by the Cuban Public Health Ministry (MINSAP).

The donation consisted of disposable materials such as gloves, surgical gowns, face masks, masks, cotton rolls, alcohol gel and vaginal specula, worth approximately US$ 6,500.

The Ambassador of St. Kitts and Nevis in Cuba, Verna Uwana Mills, expressed that it is an honor to make this donation of medical supplies to contribute to the improvement of the quality of services to the Cuban population. She thanked Cuba´s MINSAP and MINREX as well as their counterparts in St. Kitts and Nevis for facilitating the procurement and delivery of this donation, and also claimed the commitment to continue working together to strengthen bilateral ties with Cuba.

Dr. Dunia Rebeca Yi, director of the hospital, said this donation is an investment in health and welfare of the community to provide better medical care.

Dr. Yilian Jiménez, MINSAPs´s International Relations Department Director, expressed the organization’s gratitude to the Embassy of St. Kitts and Nevis for this noble gesture and important contribution to the public health system.
