Commenting on the measure taken by Oslo to the Kremlin-accredited press, the spokesman stated that “without a doubt, such decisions cannot go unanswered because they are considered a hostile step.”
“We do not accept this decision and we regret that the Norwegian authorities have chosen such a path to worsen our bilateral relations, which lately no longer shine for their quality,” declared Peskov, stressing that this is not an initiative from Moscow.
Previously, the Norwegian government issued a statement according to which Norway will deny entry to Russian citizens arriving in the country for tourism purposes starting on May 29th.
The Norwegian executive explained that Russian citizens whose purpose is tourism and other non-essential travel will be refused entry.
The restriction will apply both to those who have visas granted by Norway before these practices were delimited in the spring of 2022, and those whose documents were issued by other countries in the Schengen space.
The communication adds that Norwegian authorities will closely monitor the border and traffic at the Storskog border post, and will take additional measures if necessary.
