Speaking at a press briefing after negotiations in Amman with his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman al-Safadi, Szijjarto noted that Hungarian citizens are tired of such dangerous statements concerning the conflict.

“Some European politicians want to send soldiers to Ukraine, while others fantasize about using nuclear weapons. In any case, this would mean a world war, and those who are close to an armed conflict will have to pay for it,” the foreign minister expressed.

In his speech broadcast on M1 television channel, he expressed hope that voters to the European Parliament elections on June 6-9 could “send a signal to European politicians who say stupid things.”

The Hungarian executive stated that this vote would essentially decide the question of war and peace and called for support from those parties opposed to the continuation of the armed conflict in Ukraine.
