Effects of US policy against Cuba described as genocidal

Havana, May 22 (Prensa Latina) The deputy director general of the US Directorate at the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Johana Tablada, described Cuba's inclusion on Washington's unilateral State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT) list as genocidal

In an interview with the Caribbean Channel, the diplomat explained that Cuba’s recent exclusion from a list of nations “not fully cooperating in the fight against terrorism” does not mean its elimination from the general list of the State Department that imposes sanctions on Cuba.

That unilateral measure is one of the main genocidal tools used by the White House to asphyxiate the Cuban people, and it persists although more and more voices are rising against such an injustice, she pointed out.

She pointed out that Washington uses Cuba’s presence in that list as a justification for the unilateral coercive measures resulting from it, which are associated with the purpose of suffocating Cuba’s economy and holding the Government responsible for their impact.

She added that the US Executive simultaneously promotes a well-financed systematic communicational operation in mainstream press and digital platforms to hold the victim country responsible for the impact of these inhumane measures, which significantly affect the population.

Keeping Cuba on this list, in addition to being an immoral act, is a violation of the people’s most elementary rights, she remarked.
