In the letter, Xi stressed that this year marks the 45th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and the United States.

The bilateral relation foundations were laid by the people, the doors of the relations were opened by the people, the history of the relations was written by the people, and the future of the relations will be jointly created by the peoples of the two countries, the letter said.

Xi emphasized that tourism is an important bridge for exchanges and mutual understanding between the peoples of China and the United States.

We warmly welcome American tourists to travel to China, meet Chinese friends, experience Chinese culture, visit beautiful mountains and rivers, and appreciate the real China first hand, he said.

The head of state urged the parties to seize this high-level dialogue as an opportunity to have in-depth exchanges, build consensus, take active actions, promote personnel exchanges through tourism cooperation, and continue the friendship between China and the United States through people-to-people.
