The main damages are reported in the south of Yaguajay municipality, in the communities of Iguará and Venegas, where electrical networks, houses, roofs of the Mérida Cheese Factory, the Pork Unit and the Venegas livestock farm were damaged.

The workers of major local companies were mobilized to restore the damages and to help the neighboring populations that were affected in their homes and facilities.

According to reports from Sancti Spiritus Meteorological Center, this phenomenon was associated with the passage of a trough in the middle and upper levels of the atmosphere, with hail and winds that exceeded 100 kilometers per hour at some points.

Mileydi Milián, secretary of the Communist Party in that northern municipality, informed that they are working together and have resources to respond to the damages caused by the atmospheric phenomenon.

The highest authorities of Yaguajay and specialists of the province are touring the area and assessing the main damages in order to give their support and make sure that the areas recover their total normality.
