The head of State praised Murillo, who served as Ambassador to the United States until January 2024, and whose work became an exercise in rapprochement between peoples, according to Petro.
The president deemed that Murillo’s performance sought an understanding between Washington and Bogota from different points of view to those that have always existed because the agendas could be contradictory.
Petro commented that, from now on, Daniel Garcia will be Colombia’s new Ambassador to the United States, and will be in charge of leading a new agenda between the US and the Americas in order to achieve peace, tranquility and a real advance of life on the planet.
