The protocol ceremonies for the formal reception of the posts will begin at 09:00 hours, local time, in all four provinces and will be presided over by members of the Council of State.
Council of State members Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento (Matanzas), Homero Acosta (Cienfuegos), Ana María Mari Machado (Villa Clara) and Esteban Lazo (Santiago de Cuba) were appointed to these functions.
On May 4, the governors and vice governors were elected in those four territories, where the positions were vacant, according to an official report from the National Electoral Council (CEN), which added that all candidates won more than 90 percent of valid votes.
Marieta Poey Zamora (95.78 percent) and Lázaro Vicente Suárez Navarro (93.88) were elected in Matanzas as governor and vice governor, respectively, and Yolexis Rodríguez Armada (92.42) and Rolando José Rajadel Alzuri (94.95) in Cienfuegos.
Milaxy Yanet Sánchez Armas (98.10) and Noel Cecilio Chinea Pérez (95.14) were elected in Villa Clara, while Manuel Falcón Hernández (95.09) and Waldis González Peinado (96.04), respectively, were elected in Santiago de Cuba.
