According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry, during the meeting in Astana, Kazakhstan, Wang noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s first state visit to China in his new term was a complete success, taking into account the important node of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.
The two heads of State understood the direction of the development of bilateral relations in the new era and issued an important statement on deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination between the two countries in the new era, the Chinese foreign minister highlighted.
Wang pointed out that the two countries should prepare for bilateral exchanges within a year, continue to enhance mutual support, consolidate the basic foundation of cooperation and maintain security and stability in the common periphery of China and Russia.
Lavrov, in turn, said that President Putin’s visit to Beijing shortly after his re-election demonstrated the special nature and importance of Russia-China partnership.
Russia is ready to work with China to maintain exchanges at all levels, promote cooperation in all fields and implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of State, the Russian minister assured.
The two sides also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East, the crisis in Ukraine, the Korean Peninsula and other international and regional issues of common interest.
