Xi expressed his sincere condolences to Mokhber, Raisi’s family members, the Iranian government and the Iranian people, saying Raisi contributed to safeguarding Iran’s security and stability, as well as promoting its development and prosperity.

In addition, he added, he made positive efforts to consolidate and deepen the China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership.

“Raisi’s unfortunate death is a great loss for the Iranian people and means that the Chinese people have lost a good friend,” Xi stressed.

The president noted that the Chinese government and people highly cherish the traditional friendship between the two nations and expressed his conviction that the China-Iran comprehensive strategic partnership will witness continued consolidation and development with the joint efforts of the two sides.
