Venezuela to approve the bill on NGOs tomorrow

Caracas, May 20 (Prensa Latina) The First Deputy President of the PSUV Diosdado Cabello announced on Monday that tomorrow, after lengthy debates and popular consultations, the bill regulating NGOs should be approved in second discussion.

At his traditional weekly press conference, the political leader said that these known Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) do not depend on Venezuela, but on the United States, so ‘in conclusion, they are not non-governmental’, he asserted.

He stressed that tomorrow we are going to test the Law of Control, Regularization, Performance and Financing of Non-Governmental and Related Organizations, which has a lot to do with this financing, with how the money reaches them, he said when questioned about funds received by the opposition’s Maria Corina Machado.

Cabello assured that ‘everyone is going to have to register, where the funds come from and how they are spent,’ and acknowledged that this is a historical debt to approve these regulations.

We are sure that those who are going to scream are the same people who receive money from abroad, ‘if you don’t owe it, don’t worry about it’, he said.

He commented that they, the extreme opposition, have been taking money from foreign governments for years with the story that they are going to overthrow the government, but they have not been able to do it, ‘we are going to help the gringos so that they use that money well and do not swindle them any more here in Venezuela’, he affirmed.

The legal initiative was presented by Cabello in Parliament last January when it was approved by a majority in the first discussion, and aims to supervise the operation of NGOs that operate in the Bolivarian Republic.
