It was a report by meteorologist Guillermo Ramis, who in a radio interview said that thermometers in this capital marked three degrees Celsius.
“There are enough agrometeorological frosts in the country”, indicated the expert and added that the temperatures oscillate between two and three degrees Celsius.
Because of this, temperatures of zero degrees Celsius are marked on the ground, he said.
Agrometeorological frosts are those where the drop in temperatures generate negative effects on plant tissues, he explained.
For its part, the Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) forecast for this Monday a clear and somewhat cloudy day, with the presence of fog and mist and frost in most of the country.
A cold wave warning is in effect.
