The union claims that the company still has not paid its debts to the workers.
The strike started early this Monday. The transport workers are preventing the company’s buses from leaving the Rio Branco terminal in front of the Port of Montevideo, which provides interdepartmental services.
The National Union of Transport Laborers and Workers (UNOTT) supports the strike. The possibility to extend the measures to other companies in the sector if the salaries are not regularized is not excluded.
Another labor conflict is underway in parallel after the National Beer Factory (FNC) decided to close its plant in Minas, state of Lavalleja.
As a result, 150 workers went on strike this Monday and were sent to the unemployment office.
