According to the dispatch published on the Ministry’s official website, a large part of the eastern area of the region is located in the so-called gray zone, which separates the Russian and Ukrainian units.

The note specifies that there are practically no defenders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces left in the territory, since the majority fled their positions or were annihilated by Russian artillery and aviation, as well as by infantry advances supported by armor.

The Russian Defense Ministry added that, despite the losses, the enemy army is trying to move reserves to the eastern part of the town.

Before the advances of the Russian units, the Ivanovo paratroopers destroyed a fortified site of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the outskirts of the city.

Chasov Yar is one of the most fortified cities by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and just like Artyomovsk (aka Bakhmut) and Avdeyevka, (both under Russia’s control), constitutes one of the main strongholds in the Donbass region.
