In a message written on X, the leader expressed her gratitude to the Dominican people for their democratic vocation expressed at the polls.
Abinader was re-elected on Sunday in the first round according to data provided by the Central Electoral Board (JCE).
According to the JCE, Abinader and the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) and allies registered 58.3% with 64.1% of the polling stations counted, followed by former President Leonel Fernandez (27.6%), and Abel Martinez of the Dominican Liberation Party (10.7%).
