According to a military statement, four other uniformed personnel were seriously injured in Saturday’s explosion of a tunnel laden with booby traps in the area Rafah.

The text noted that the group was attached to the Givati Brigade reconnaissance unit.

The high command reported that another soldier was seriously wounded in the same area where the armored excavator he was driving was hit by an RPG rocket.

Four days ago, five soldiers were killed and seven were wounded when a tank mistook them for Palestinian militiamen and fired at them in the Jabalia refugee camp, in the north of the coastal enclave.

To date, the Armed Forces (IDF) has recognized 13 deaths during exchanges of fire with the Lebanese group Hezbollah on the northern border in the last seven months, and more than 300 who fell on October 7, 2023, during an armed operation of the Islamic Resistance Movement.

The Army claims that it has eliminated thousands of Palestinian militants in that coastal enclave since then, although the number cannot be verified independently.
