On his X profile, Rodríguez added that his Colombian counterpart, Luis Gilberto Murillo, celebrated the decision of the US Government to remove Cuba from the register of countries “that do not cooperate in the fight against terrorism.”
We will continue to insist that it is not fair that Cuba remains on the general list of countries that “sponsor terrorism,” as this causes adverse conditions to be maintained regarding migration issues, Murillo noted.
He also pointed out that his country’s foreign policy maintains as a principle that decisions in this regard must be made in the multilateral contexts of the United Nations and other scenarios that exist.
On May 15, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken removed Cuba from a list of countries that, according to the United States, “do not fully cooperate” in the fight against terrorism; however, paradoxically, Cuba continues in the general list of sponsors of that scourge.
