“Washington once again attacks [Nicaragua] in less than two months, a member of the integration bloc, through a series of unilateral coercive measures directed against companies,” the ALBA-TCP said in a statement.
The bloc mentioned the International Mining Company and Capital Mining Investment Nicaragua and more than 250 public servants, including police, prosecutors, judges, among others. These measures “seek to alter the economic and political stability of this country in order to hinder its legitimate rights to development.”
ALBA-TCP considers it unusual that Washington “attacks and issues sanctions against institutions of other States that carry out economic activities in Nicaraguan territory,” and highlighted the disrespect for Nicaragua’s sovereign right to choose its commercial allies and international investors.
The member states of ALBA-TCP demanded respect for the sovereignty of the free peoples of our America and the Caribbean and reaffirmed their unrestricted support and solidarity with the people and the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity of the Republic of Nicaragua.
