Official sources cited by the Al-Watan newspaper reported that Al-Assad will not give a speech, although the event’s presidency allocated a three-minute window for each Arab leader to speak.
The Syrian president’s participation will focus on meetings with his Arab counterparts, with whom he will discuss Arab relations and the evolution of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The Summit agenda will be focused on the Palestinian issue and the current Israeli aggression on Gaza.
Various issues related to joint Arab action in the political, economic, social, cultural, and security fields, and Arab cooperation with international and regional blocs, will also be discussed.
The Syrian president participated in the previous summit, which was held in May 2023 in Saudi Arabia after 12 years of Syria’s absence due to war.
