The military institution announced on its official Telegram website that after describing the action as a terrorist attack by the Ukrainian troops against the federal territory, it reported that the air defense system shot down the intruder drone at 07:30 hours, Moscow time.

The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency reported that temporary restrictions have been imposed on the work of two airports in Tatarstan, one in Kazan and another in Nizhnekamsk.

It was not the first Ukrainian drone attack on targets on the territory of Tatarstan.

In early April, at least six people were injured in a drone attack on industrial factories in the cities of Yelabuga and Nizhnekams, more than 1,000 kilometers from Ukraine.
