National Band and Spanish alpine horn master in Havana

Havana, May 15 (Prensa Latina) The National Concert Band, directed by Igor Corcuera, will present this Friday a retreat at its usual Havana venue in the Plaza de Armas, where maestro Samuel Perez Llobell, from Spain, will participate as a guest.

The presentation will take place at 4:00 p.m. local time at the emblematic site of the Historic Center, where Perez Llobell will perform a variety of works with an alpine horn, according to a press release issued by the National Center of Concert Music.

This institution also invites the public to attend the concert to be held on May 17 at the San Felipe Neri Oratory, under the musical direction of Russian cellist Nikolay Shugaev.

The activity scheduled for 5:00 p.m. local time with free admission will be the conclusion of a workshop given a few days ago by Shugaev for the musicians of the Youth Academy of the Lyceum Orchestra of Havana at the Lyceum Mozartiano in this capital city.

It is an opportunity for the young musicians to demonstrate the fruits of their work under the guidance of the relevant Russian master.
