Russia and Brazil increased bilateral trade in April

Moscow, May 14 (Prensa Latina) Russia and Brazil registered a notable increase in their bilateral trade in April, reaching $1.5 billion, according to data from the statistical services of both nations, the Sputnik agency reported.

The last time trade between Russia and Brazil exceeded $1 billion was in December last year, with similar levels in August and September 2023, as well as in May and July 2022.

During this period, Brazil increased its purchases of Russian products by 13 percent, reaching 881 million dollars. The main imports were petroleum products, which increased by two percent, up to 566 million dollars.

However, the most significant growth was observed in the import of Russian fertilizers, which increased 1.5 times, reaching 285 million dollars.

Moreover, Brazilian exports to Russia tripled their value, reaching 172.5 million dollars, the highest level since March last year.

Brazil exported mainly agricultural products, especially soybean sales, which quadrupled to 82 million dollars in April. Brazilian sugar also saw a notable increase in deliveries, reaching $25 million in this same month.

In addition, meat exports from Brazil to Russia grew 2.2 times, reaching almost 13 million dollars.
