Mauritania requests Angola support for leadership in regional center

Luanda, May 13 (Prensa Latina) Angolan President João Lourenço on Monday received a request from his Mauritanian counterpart, Mohamed Ould Cheik El Ghazouani, to support his country's candidacy for the leadership of a regional institution.

The letter was sent by El Ghazouani’s Minister Advisor Coumba Ba, who, after meeting with the Angolan leader, told the press that the message also addressed aspects related to the strengthening of bilateral relations.

Mauritania aspires to head the African Center for Administrative Training and Research for Development (CAFRAD), an intergovernmental organization based in Tangier, Morocco, which aims to professionalize public administration.

Established in 1964 with the support of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, CAFRAD has 38 member states, including Angola.
