Grenada restricts water use due to intense drought

Saint George's, May 13 (Prensa Latina) Grenada today activated a package of measures to rationalize water, while the persisting drought is affecting its territory, leaving 17 reserves without liquid.

After an emergency meeting, the government determined to limit watering gardens and lawns and hosing down sidewalks, pavements, garages, and vehicles. Filling swimming pools and any other activity that requires abundant water are also prohibited.

As noted by the National Water and Sewerage Authority, these measures seek to respond to the urgent challenges posed by the dry season. These restrictions will be disseminated through various communication channels to ensure widespread awareness and compliance.

They are also forwarded to ensure the sustainable use and preservation of the nation’s water resources.
