In his message, released here, Xi highlighted that the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Panama in June 2017 opened a new chapter in bilateral relations, adding that in this time the ties achieve fruitful results for the benefit of both peoples.

The head of state of China also indicated that bilateral ties with Panama are proving to be in line with the fundamental interests of both countries, and that the promotion of these ties and adherence to the principle of One China have become a common consensus in all sectors of both societies.

Xi added that he is willing to work with Mulino to promote friendly exchanges and guide bilateral relations to advance and achieve profound development.

Earlier, in a message from Beijing, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian stressed the commitment to collaborate with Panama to improve mutual political trust, strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation and further advance bilateral relations.

Last May 5, in general elections, the standard-bearer of the Realizing Goals and Alliance parties won the elections with 34.2 percent.
