The various military units of the Syrian Arab Army and the Russian Group that have operated in Syria since 2015 at the request of the Syrian government participated in the parade.

The commander of the Russian troops, General Sergei Kisel, said that the great victory achieved in the Great Patriotic War demonstrated the heroism of Soviet warriors at the front, the unity of the people, the spirit of victory, and love for their homeland.

The general stressed that the Soviet people liberated Europe from the Nazi threat that destroyed it and left millions of victims, and added that the brave Russian fighters are fighting the neo-Nazis in Ukraine like their ancestors.

The words delivered by the Syrian senior leadership stressed that Russia supports the people’s right to a free and dignified life and continues to defend international peace. He also thanked Russia for the efforts made over the years and the sacrifices and heroism shown during the ongoing cooperation with the Syrian Arab Army in its war against terrorism.

The Syrian commanders assured that thanks to the firmness and heroism of the Syrian and Russian armies and peoples, a new victory will be won over global terrorism and neo-Nazism.
