Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian stressed the legitimate right of China and Russia to engage in usual economic and trade cooperation, which should not be interfered with or restricted.
The spokesperson also underscored the constant US crackdown on Chinese companies under the pretext of “national security risks” without providing any evidence.
He urged Washington to halt the generalization of this concept and stop politicizing, exploiting, and militarizing economic, trade, and technology issues.
“China will continue to take necessary steps to defend firmly, the legitimate rights and interests of its enterprises,” he added.
At another point in his press briefing, Lin Jian questioned a bill introduced in the US House of Representatives that would facilitate President Joe Biden’s administration to impose export restrictions on artificial intelligence (AI) models to prevent the technology from reaching “malignant foreign stakeholders.”
