The maximum duration of a political demonstration will be limited to 24 hours, while for others a maximum period of two weeks is given, after the new regulations come into force.
The regulations, which will come into force as from July 1, regulate the fines to be imposed on workers participating in unauthorized protests and specify other measures.
The context surrounding this event is marked by union protests against the Petteri Orpo government’s reforms, which affect pension payments, sick pay, unemployment benefits, insurance contributions and facilitate worker dismissal.
