Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian also expressed Beijing’s conviction in the new achievements Moscow will experience in the socio-economic environment under Putin’s leadership.
“Both countries have adhered to the principles of non-alliance, non-confrontation, and non-targeting any third party, and developed bilateral relations and cooperation in several fields based on mutual respect and mutual benefit,” he added.
The spokesperson recalled that this year marks the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between China and Russia.
In this context, he assured the two countries would further enhance mutual trust, expand cooperation, and jointly promote multi-polar, balanced, inclusive, and win-win economic globalization.
“China attaches great importance to the strategic leadership role of the two countries’ presidents in bilateral relations,” he said.
Lin Jian commented that President Xi Jinping and Putin agreed to maintain a close exchange to ensure that the relationship continues its stable and progressive development but did not provide details on Putin’s possible visit to China.
