The ceremony will take place at 7:30 p.m., local time, at the headquarters of that institution in this capital city as part of the tributes to the Standard Bearer of the Humble and Spiritual Leader of the Nation on occasion of the 105th anniversary of her birth.
The new hall will also pay tribute to Juana Azurduy, Alfonsina Storni, Mercedes Sosa, Cecilia Grierson, the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo and other women who stood out in the history of this South American nation.
The initiative takes place after the Government of Javier Milei removed the paintings of these and other women from the Casa Rosada to turn a space dedicated to them in the Salón de los Próceres (Hall of the Proceres).
The action was considered a provocation as it took place while thousands of people were marching for International Women’s Day.
Born in 1919, Evita is considered a figure of enormous transcendence in the struggle for equality and citizens’ rights, and together with her husband, former president Juan Domingo Perón (1895-1974), she promoted an important process of transformation in this country.
