Cuba´s ICAP pays tribute to Azerbaijani National Leader Heydar Aliyev

Havana, May 7 (Prensa Latina) Representatives of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Havana on Tuesday paid tribute to the national leader of that Eurasian country, Heydar Aliyev (1923-2003).

At ICAP´s Friendship Center, participants heaped praise on Aliyev’s influence in his country´s political life for over 30 years; from the Soviet Union era to the complex years of transition towards the strengthening of an independent state he was serving as president (1993-2003).

ICAP´s First Vice-President Noemi Rabaza and Azerbaijani Ambassador Ruslan Rzayev presided over the tribute to Aliyev who always expressed his admiration for the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro.

According to ICAP, the diplomat thanked the tribute to Aliyev and highlighted the solid bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Cuba, exchanges between leaders of both nations and expressed his wishes to continue deepening fraternal ties in several sectors.
