Renowned experts from international organizations, civil society, and academics are participating in the three-day meeting.

The event is addressing issues such as the fiscal policy’s challenges in the context of low growth and climate change.

Other issues include public spending and its priorities for more sustainable development, revenue enhancement, and debt sustainability.

The seminar was inaugurated on Monday by ECLAC Executive Secretary José Manuel Salazar-Xirinachs, a Chilean Ministry of Finance representative, and Laura Oroz, an official from the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation.

The meeting consists of presentations by members of international organizations, like the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF), the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT), and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
