Santos said it was no coincidence that the 69th session of the UN Tourism Regional Commission for the Americas was held in Cuba a few days ago.
That meeting addressed regional destinations, education, informatization, investment, and connectivity.
He referred to the massive support of the 24 delegations of the region to hold the most significant meeting of regional tourism in Cuba.
Latin America, he said, represents 15 percent of the world’s tourism, and almost 40 percent of the territory supports the world’s sustainability reserves.
Santos also addressed the challenges of artificial intelligence for sustainable tourism, even beyond the paradigmatic changes it will generate.
FITCuba 2024 is attended by more than 670 professionals from different countries and 80 specialized journalists.
