Children, young people, women and men, dedicated to study and creative work, as well as National Vanguards groups, paraded on Wednesday in front of the monument to the Hero of the three wars for the independence of Cuba in the 19th century, in a people’s festivity.
Bearing signs with revolutionary slogans and dressed in the allegorical colors of the national flag (red, blue and white), the workers, together with their families and people in general, ratified their unconditional support for the Cuban Revolution.
Ekaterina Gowen, general secretary of the Cuban Workers’ Confederation (CTC) in the province, praised the efforts of workers’ collectives in the territory, represented by different unions, including Energy and Mines Union, the first bloc to march.
From the tribune, Gowen stressed that this important date is celebrated in a current context that demands more efforts for the sake of the country’s economic recovery.
Gowen, who is also a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), reaffirmed the condemnation of the unjust economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the Government of the United States on Cuba.
In an unconditional support for just causes, she condemned Israel’s genocide of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, with the complicity of the United States.
