The gesture of solidarity is in response to the 30 years of sisterhood relations between the two cities, as they have previously donated other paramount items for the health system to the Roberto Rodriguez Teaching Hospital and the Moron Home for the Elderly, to the value of 3,000 euros.
The press release points out that the arrival of the donation will coincide with the brigade’s trip to the 8th International Seminar on Peace and the Abolition of Foreign Military Bases, to be held in the eastern province of Guantanamo on 4 and 5 May.
The source added that the cargo was purchased with the proceeds of the last two years from the solidarity stand at the “Moron de la Frontera” Fair.
Since 2000, the Sevillian Association has also been supporting exchange, collaboration and cooperation relations with universities and associations between the provinces of Ciego de Avila and those of Jaen, Almeria, as well as in the autonomous regions of the Canary Islands and the Region of Murcia.
The fair stand “Que linda es Cuba” dedicates 20% of its income to finance travel and the purchase of donations for the city of Moron in Ciego de Avila and for campaigns in favor of the nation, including the purchase of syringes to facilitate vaccination against Covid-19 and to compensate for the damage caused by the accident at the Hotel Saratoga in Havana, the press release refers.
