Port-au-Prince, Apr 30 (Prensa Latina) The Haitian Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) elected today as its head Edgard Leblanc, who will have the reins of the body in charge of reestablishing political order in this Antillean nation.

Leblanc was the winner after the implementation of a document entitled Mechanism applicable to the election of the President of the Presidential Council for the Transition.

Edgard Leblanc is a member of the Collective of the Political Parties of January 30, an alliance that opposed former Prime Minister Ariel Henry.

On April 25, the members of the CPT were sworn in at the National Palace, from where the route to politically reorder the Caribbean country will be traced.

Before a limited audience Smith Agustin; Louis Gérald Gilles; Fritz, Alphonse Jean; Edgard Leblanc; Laurent Saint-Cyr; Emmanuel Vertilaire, Leslie Voltaire, Régine Abraham and Frinel Joseph sealed their commitment to the nation.

At the same time, Henry officially tendered his resignation and appointed Michel Patrick Boisvert as interim Prime Minister by decree pending the formation of another government.

This body, once in office, will have to appoint a Prime Minister and form a government in agreement with him, Le Nouvelliste newspaper said.

It will also form the Provisional Electoral Council; formulate additional requirements for the ordinary national security forces to address the international community and establish a National Security Council.
