On the social network X, the head of government noted that this event opened the way to peace and reunification of Vietnam, a country he described as a brother country.

Through the digital platform, the Secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba, Roberto Morales, congratulated the Communist Party of Vietnam on the patriotic date.

Morales highlighted that the reunification of Vietnam was a possible achievement due to the heroism of the people, the leadership of Ho Chi Minh, and the steadfastness of the Party. “The socialist road laid out has allowed peace and development of the country,” he stressed.

On April 30, 1975, the Vietnamese city of Saigon was liberated by Vietnamese fighters, putting an end to the armed confrontation in Vietnam.

That victory opened the way to peace in the Indochinese nation, allowed the reunification of the North and South, and marked the first major defeat of the United States in Asia after World War II.
