Entitled “Enhancing Tourism Development through Innovation in Community-based Tourism”, the meeting will address the challenges, strategies, and best practices to promote that sector’s development, empowerment, and investment in local communities and boost innovation.
The event, to be held at the International Hotel in Varadero, starts with a speech by UN Tourism Executive Director Natalia Bayona, on Social Innovation in Tourism Experiences, Strengthening Community Tourism and Entrepreneurship in Local Communities.
Other issues include Challenges, Strategies, and Best Practices for Sustainable Tourism Development through empowerment and investment in community tourism; tourism development and its impact on local communities: “Meliá Hotels International, 70 years Creating Opportunities in Destinations.
On the following day, the 69th meeting of the UN Tourism Regional Commission for the Americas will take place, a session in which the regional director for the Americas, Gustavo Santos, will present the report Panorama of Trends and Prospects of International Tourism in the region and other interesting interventions will take place.
FitCuba 2024 will be held from May 1 to 5 in Jardines del Rey and this time it will be dedicated to Latin America and the Caribbean, focused on tour operators and travel agents interested in studying the progress of the industry in the country and its link with the rest of the area.
