To prevent terrorism, Russian law enforcement agencies, strictly within the legislation, carry out more thorough checks on foreign citizens entering the country, Zakharova specified this Sunday on her Telegram channel.
Despite this, Russia is taking comprehensive measures to resolve the current situation as quickly as possible, the spokeswoman indicated, adding that these actions are temporary and are not related to the nationality of individuals.
She stated that no changes have been made to the criteria for refusing entry to Russia and that there are no additional hurdles for foreigners in possession of all necessary documents.
Earlier, the Tajik Foreign Ministry expressed concern about the problems faced by its nationals in recent weeks when crossing the Russian border and recommended that Tajik citizens to temporarily refrain from traveling to Russia.
On March 22, a commando of gunmen fired on a crowd gathered for a rock concert at Crocus City Hall, northwest of Moscow, and set fire to the venue causing, according to the latest official data, 145 dead and more than 550 wounded.
President Vladimir Putin, acknowledged that the attack was the work of radical Islamists, but assumed that it could be a link in a chain of operations carried out against Russia since 2014 by Ukrainian nationalists.
According to the Federal Security Service, after the attack the terrorists tried to flee towards the Russian-Ukrainian border. However, Ukraine denied involvement in the attack.
