In a meeting here with French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné, the head of government expressed Lebanon’s adherence to the full implementation of the UN Security Council regulation to ensure the country’s stability.
During the meeting, the parties discussed efforts made by Paris to restore calm in southern Lebanon and put an end to the Israeli war against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Mikati appreciated France’s support for the country’s economic recovery and reiterated his call on European governments to support Lebanon in reaching a solution to the Syrian displaced persons crisis.
Receiving Séjourné and the French delegation, Lebanese Foreign Minister Abdullah Bou Habib noted that only through the full and comprehensive implementation of Resolution 1701 could the desired stability be achieved in the national territory.
