Palestinian diplomat accused Israel of committing crimes in Gaza

Ramallah, Apr 27 (Prensa Latina) The Palestinian representative to the UN, Riyad Mansour, accused Israel of committing war crimes in the Gaza Strip, the national press reported Saturday.

Several Palestinian media published excerpts of a letter sent by Mansour to the United Nations Secretary General (UNSG) and presidents of UNSC and UNGA to denounce the Israeli army’s violations.

The diplomat lashed out at the international community’s failure to hold Israel accountable, which, he said, encouraged Benjamin Netanyahu’s administration to commit “more brutal crimes in occupied Palestine”.

Mansour also questioned the consistent U.S. vetoes of draft resolutions advocating for a cease-fire in Gaza.

The military and settler gangs continue to hunting down Palestinian civilians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, during their daily raids on villages and towns, the official warned.

Mansour also detailed the “severe deprivation and distress (of Gazans) due to Israel’s use of food, water, medicine and medical care as weapons.”

He referred to the mass graves found after the military withdrawal in the Nasser and Al-Shifa hospitals, both located in the coastal enclave.

He further warned against Netanyahu’s plans to invade the southern city of Rafah, where over one million Palestinians are presently taking refuge.

This dangerous and inhumane situation requires immediate international action to protect the lives of millions of Palestinians who are threatened by this illegal occupation, he stressed.
