The closing gala will take place at 6:00 p.m. local time at the former Presidio Modelo, with a great concert after a week of competition with 30 audiovisuals for the first time in competition, free screenings, tributes and actions for environmental conservation.
The recital will be in charge of Cuban musicians Polito Ibáñez, David Torrens and Kelvis Ochoa, the latter two authors of the theme song seasoned with sucu suco that identifies the event.
As part of the program, more than 20 relevant plastic artists participated in the contemporary art exhibition “De la Isla a la luna” (From the Island to the Moon).
The event, included in the celebrations of the Month of Europe in Cuba, organized student workshops in the communities, ecofeminism, sustainable fashion, audiovisual production, nature photography, and environmental talks.
There were spaces for scientific exchange, sowing seeds in local gardens and plots, audiovisual workshops for teenagers, and promoting traditional games, among other activities.
During this second edition of the festival, experiences from the European Union (EU) and Cuba on climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies were presented, an ideal venue to call for action to protect the planet.
The Festival is organized by the Taller Gorría Gallery, the Antonio Núñez Jiménez Foundation for Nature and Man, and the Four Wives event production company, with support from the EU, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, and other institutions and enterprises.
