Security sources announced to the official WAFA News Agency the killing of Mustafa Sultan Abed, 22, and Ahmad Mohammad Shawahneh, 21, while injuring two others.

“Israel´s forces shot at a group of young Palestinians near the permanent staffed Salem checkpoint,” WAFA reported.

“Heavily-armed soldiers” prevented ambulances from reaching the area to recover the bodies of Abed and Shawahneh, the agency added.

The Red Crescent Society, on the other hand, reported that it transferred two people injured in the incident.

For its part, the Israeli army confirmed that its soldiers had killed two Palestinians for allegedly “firing on a military site in the northern West Bank.”

The army released a picture depicting two rifles that were allegedly used by the two youngers.
