NATO considers insufficient arms supply to Ukraine

Brussels, Apr 26 (Prensa Latina) Despite warnings from Russia about the counterproductive nature of rearming Ukraine, the secretary general of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Jens Stoltenberg, considered arms supplies insufficient.

“We must be honest, in recent months NATO allies have failed to properly fulfill their promises to help Ukraine,” Stoltenberg said during his visit to Germany. “Ukraine lacks the means to protect itself from Russian drones and missiles, while its firepower falls short of Moscow’s,” he declared after the West supplied more than $165 billion worth of weapons to Zelensky’s regime.

This week, the United States approved almost $61 billion for Ukraine. Much of that money will rather benefit companies in the US military-industrial complex, and only just under $20 billion will be used for war supplies to Kiev.

NATO member countries sent tanks, armored vehicles, howitzers, rocket systems, and even Soviet-era combat aircraft to Ukraine from Eastern European nations, despite which Ukraine launched at least two unsuccessful counteroffensives.

The Russian Ministry of Defense showed images of the destruction of at least five M1 Abrams tanks provided by the United States, as it occurred with the British-made and -supplied Challenger 2 tanks.

According to The War Zone publication, the Pentagon recognized the poor performance of the GLSDB smart bombs in the Ukrainian theater of operations, where Washington even surreptitiously sent ATACMS missiles, which have a range of up to 300 kilometers.

Moscow considers that the true purpose of supplying Ukraine with missiles such as the ATACMS is to strike at areas and civilian infrastructure deep within the territory of Russia, whose authorities consider such attacks as terrorist acts.
