The state-run ACNC news agency reported today, that Kim Jong Un, also supreme commander of the People’s Army, said this new technology marks “a strategic shift” in the development of the artillery force.

The flight characteristics, impact, and concentration rates of the projectile (…), manufactured by a new unit of the defense industry, were evaluated as very satisfactory, the news agency said.

Faced with the growing number of U.S. and South Korean military maneuvers in the region, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) has stepped up tests of its missiles and ballistic means in general.

On Monday, Kim controlled a nuclear counterattack drill that included the launch of several short-range ballistic missiles before a joint U.S.-South Korean air drills, the largest of their kind in recent years and considered a practice aimed at attacking the DPRK.
